Democrats Disclose Latest Set of Epstein Photographs as Department of Justice Time Limit Nears

The House investigative committee has released a collection of roughly 70 images obtained from the property of late found guilty individual convicted of sex crimes Jeffrey Epstein.

This constitutes the latest in a series of publication from a larger collection of in excess of 95,000 images the committee has obtained from Epstein's holdings. It features images of passages from the book Lolita scrawled across a female's body, and redacted photos of women's foreign passports.

This action arrives mere hours before the December 19th deadline for the Department of Justice to release all records related to its probe into Epstein.

"These images bring up more questions about what exactly the Justice Department has in its possession," stated the Democratic lead of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What's in the Images Made Public

Some of the photographs made public on Thursday show Epstein in discussion with academic and activist Noam Chomsky inside a personal aircraft; Bill Gates positioned alongside a female whose identity is censored; Steve Bannon seated at a workstation facing Epstein, and ex- Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event.

These are the most recent high-net-worth, powerful individuals to be pictured in Epstein's estate photographs released by the oversight panel - earlier released pictures also show US President Donald Trump and past president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, former US Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Being pictured in the photos is not proof of any illegal activity, and a number of the featured individuals have stated they were not involved in Epstein's criminal activity.

In a statement released with the photo publication, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein property holders did not provide background information or dates for the photographs.

"Images were chosen to furnish the public with openness into a typical cross-section of the images obtained from the property, and to give insights into Epstein's associates and his extremely disturbing behavior," the release reads.

The publication also contains multiple photographs of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov book Lolita penned in black ink across several locations of a woman's body, including her torso, foot, hipbone, and spine. Lolita recounts the tale of a adolescent who was groomed by a older literature professor.

An example of a passage from the novel scrawled across a woman's chest reads, "Lolita's name: the tip of the tongue making a journey of three steps down the roof of the mouth to alight, at three, on the teeth".

The release also contains a number of photographs of female identification and ID papers from states globally, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

The majority of the details on the documents, including names and DOBs, is censored but the House Oversight Committee said in a announcement that the passports are associated with "women whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were involved with".

Another photograph depicts Epstein sitting at a table in close proximity flanked by three women whose faces have been obscured - one individual has her palm on Epstein's torso under his garment, and another individual is bending to look at a adjacent laptop. Epstein seems to be helping the final person fasten a bracelet.

A further photo disclosed is a screenshot of SMS messages from an unknown individual who claims they have been supplied "several females" and are asking for "$$1,000 for each individual".

Photograph Release Arrives Ahead of DOJ Cut-off

The panel has many thousands of photographs in its possession from the Epstein property, which are "at once disturbing and ordinary," its statement on this week explained.

The oversight panel first legally compelled the estate of Epstein, who passed away in a New York prison in 2019 while facing trial on charges of sex trafficking crimes, in August.

The photographs and files the Epstein estate provided to the panel are distinct from what is often referred to "Epstein-related records". That material are papers in the justice department's possession related to its independent probe into Epstein.

Under the Transparency Act, which Donald Trump enacted in November, the DOJ has until 19 December to publish its records. The extent of what's contained in the DOJ's documents is not publicly known, and it's expected that much of the information will be significantly censored, comparable to Congressional materials
