A Manchester club boasts an non-professional veterans squad with nine former top-flight footballers in their present roster.

Two Hundred Twenty-Two Premier League Scores, Three Hundred Twenty-Five International Appearances

The team Veterans Over 35s are based in southern Manchester and play in the Cheshire-based Vets Division Top Tier.

Their squad list this season features nine ex- Premier League players, with a combined over 1,800 top-flight matches.

This star-studded team also includes over 220 top division scores and over 320 international caps.

They feature Papiss Cisse, who scored 37 scores in over 100 games for his former club after signing for them for £9m from Bundesliga side Freiburg in January 2012.

Cisse had his first appearance for the team in their most recent home-field match versus defending title holders their rivals and scored all six scores in a six-two victory - including a 32-minute opening period hat-trick.

The squad for this season also includes ex- pros such as English and Anfield striker Emile Heskey, Hull City and Burnley midfielder George Boyd, Toffees striker Oumar Niasse, Wigan Athletic defender Maynor Figueroa, City pair Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuoha and top-flight title victors Joleon Lescott and Danny Drinkwater.

In total, the ex- top-flight players have won 15 major trophies and transferred for combined transfer sums of approximately £123 million.

Household Figures and Global Players

Stephen Ireland began playing for the side in pre-season this season through close mate and present Wythenshawe player Blake Norton, and the ex- Irish player then asked additional ex-pros, who all compete in a weekly small-sided match, to participate.

Former Senegalese forward Niasse, who netted twelve goals in 65 Premier League games for the Toffees and even now attends their home games, also had his first appearance versus the opposition - who are based in the city and wear an Everton warm-up gear as their uniform.

"The spectators who come and see are happy and to give a day if they see us playing there and to pose us queries - it's more like the pleasure of us getting a place we can enjoy football, with organisation of course."

Such is the bench strength at the club, he had his first game at full-back.

"That's a bit different but then, I love sprinting and just move forward - I'm not defending that much," he added.

"I tell my centre-back 'I'm not hanging back' and that I'm just going to continue attacking.

"The running is what I'm after. It's enjoyable."

Dreamlike' Experience

Along with the forward's 6 goals on his first game, Stephen Ireland has scored 8 in three games for the side, while George Boyd hit five on his first appearance and Joleon Lescott, a defender by position, scored a hat-trick in one game as a striker.

The team are leading of the Premier Tier with three wins from three and a goal difference of plus nineteen.

Paul Barrow, 38, who features on the flank for Collegiate OB, faced ex- Latics full-back Maynor Figueroa on Sunday - and had to explain his nine-year-old son who Heskey was.

He has played at two global tournaments for Honduras, in as well as featuring in over two hundred top-flight matches.

"It was going round like a rumor they had all these ex-Premier League players," said the player.

"I think I was a little starstruck playing against Figueroa to be honest.

"Also Heskey came on and he's got 60-odd English caps.

"We competed well for a good twenty mins but then we had a man sent off and it was tough.

"Our group literally have not ceased chatting about it - I was calling my mum and brother on the way home.

"They were all really nice, shaking our hands after the game - it was like facing a group of regular fellas.

"Now we are eager for the second match."
