Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Counterattacks.

Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is unclear and the American officials has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
