Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
